All the "Tripping Billies" and "Dancing Nancies" had better lace up their deck shoes as Dave Matthews (tickets | music) invites fans to set sail for a February performance in the Bahamas.
The three-night cruise will pick up fans Feb. 3 at ports in Miami and Orlando, and then head straight to Nassau. On Feb. 4, folks will be taken by ferry to a "secret" island location where Dave Matthews and Friends will perform a concert on the beach and under the stars. The cruise will stop at Coco Cay on Feb. 5 and arrive back in Florida on the following morning.
Matthews will not perform onboard the two "eco-friendly" cruise ships, but plenty of other artists will. Those currently scheduled to entertain travelers include Bob Weir and Ratdog (tickets | music), G. Love and Special Sauce, Toots & the Maytals (tickets | music), Ozomatli (tickets | music), Mike Doughty and The North Mississippi Allstars.
For sports fans who don't want to miss that weekend's big game, organizers plan to properly celebrate Super Bowl Sunday aboard the ships.
The lineup for Matthews' Friends band has not yet been decided. It will likely include some of the artists that performed with the singer/songwriter/guitarist during his tour in support of 2003's solo effort, "Some Devil," according to the cruise announcement. That may or may not include ex-Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, who was part of the 2004 Friends-tour lineup.
Reservations are available exclusively to members of the Warehouse, the Dave Matthews Band's official fan club. For more information, visit cruise.davematthewsband.com.
