Well.... RatDog's GOTV performance was on a day where the rain wouldn't stop. It did clear up for the most part during their set. On this night, a solid, competent performance by RatDog was overshadowed by Bobby's appearance with the Rhythm Devils right before. While the Devils set was on fire, RatDog's was kind of mellow. A well-played Jack Straw featured some rippin' leads by MK and gave way to Red Rooster. A short ride through Bird Song segued into a rockin' Odessa. While Friend of the Devil was great, it was overshadowed by Victim or the Crime, which was one of the highlights of this set. Mama Said followed and didn't seem an appropriate choice in this slot. Mississippi Half-Step raised the musical bar higher and an intense but way-too-short Other One part 2 melted into the Jam. Great Jam by RatDog into highlight #2, Standing on the Moon! Great SOTM, followed by a Bird Song Reprise (yawn) and into a truly rockin' Saturday Night. A sweet double encore of US Blues and Ripple closed out a great day of music.
