Re: just played with a pick for the first time in a year or so
My thumb nail is completely worn down most of the time. I have to play with the flesh of my thumb a lot.

Pain in backs of fingers on left hand
I'm getting aching in the area of my second metatarsal after playing a lot. It doesn't feel like a joint or tendon thing. My instincts are telling me that somehow it is just muscle soreness. I played for an hour in the street yesterday and the left hand pain was a bit annoying and seemed to cause a ...

Re: Beginner Rumba
I just focus intensely on a couple pieces at a time. I'd say almost anyone who can play out probably has more talent. I just have persistence. Thanks though.
That Rumba strum wasn't all that hard to learn really.

Re: Ovation guitars
I knew a guy in the 80's who got to buy an ovation from Jorma because Jorma needed cash to party.
I never really liked the sound of them too much.
I wouldn't mind a medium end Tak steel string but it ain't in the budget.

Re: which to get?
I used to dream of Jerry breaking out the pedal steel for a Row Jimmy. I can barely play one type of guitar in one tuning. ](*,) I even bought a bass but never really learned it. Sounds to me like the pedal steel guitar is a rare offering. Is it really an offer you can't refuse? The pedal could be p...
