Highlight for me was his cover of planet caravan. Obviously he and his band are top notch. After a while though I start to feel like I’m seeing the Yngwie Malmsteen of bluegrass. I know it’s not a popular opinion, everyone loves the guy, rightfully so( but I find the lack of empty spaces in the music to be exhausting after a while.

That said, he has a great stage presence and cones of like a genuine, cool guy. the crowd was great, little to no show talkers, families, young and old. More people dancing vs sitting. The venue is top notch. Love the place. Wish more bands played there

Other highlights for me were Sadie what a lady, which I guess was a debut for them, rank stranger, streamlined cannonbal and southern flavor. Train train was fun as well. I’d def go see him again, but will come armed with a handful of adderall next time

Had this same discussion with my concert buddy about 2 years ago. I told him that were way too many notes coming out of him on every single tune. He told me I was crazy.
I was seeing Billy every chance I could a few years ago but not so much lately.

Play this 'Sittin on Top of the World' for someone and ask them to listen to solo #1 (then there is a verse) then solo #2 and ask them which one they like better.
