Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share that we recently (Friday, 11/3) dedicated a garden in Avery's memory at her elementary school. It was special to us. There are 6 Lord Baltimore Hibiscus plants (one for each year of her life) and a hand made bench (Minnie Mouse theme).

With an incredibly heavy heart, I share the news that my cherished Avery has left us, passing away peacefully on Thursday, April 6th.

Unfortunately, her brain injury, subsequent complications, and long-term prognosis proved to be too overwhelming. She was held in our arms as she took her last breath and was as comfortable as she's ever been.

I'm so sorry to share this news. It's been an incredible 6+ years and the support this community showed us since day one of her life will never be forgotten. Thank you.

Yes, the last couple months have been difficult reliving the memories of Avery's final months in the hospital. Easter was tough.

She's an angel and was the best gift a father could ask for. Reflecting on her smile and persistence through the adversity she faced throughout her life inspires me and warms my heart.
