Good stuff. I really like the photos where you just see one or two people in an area that's supposed to be crowded. I feel like that gives the pictures some nice context.

I"m pretty sure this is Bourbon Street but imagining what it looks like with such a small crowd is hard, but I guess I don't have to imagine it after all.

Yes, that's Bourbon Street. At ~6:45pm on St Patrick's Day.

It was completely empty last time I looked at one of the webcams (about 15 minutes ago at 9:45p). Literally not a single person in sight.

Thanks - they really caught my eye as I was riding past. I pulled a U-turn across Magazine St at 615pm to get that one. No chance of that happening in normal times without getting drilled by a motorist! So bizarre.

That one and the guy by himself on the bench by the Tree of Life are the ones that really strike me. On a beautiful evening like this, that area of Audubon Park would normally be packed. Today there was just him on the bench, one mom and daughter playing and one lady walking her dog.

Oh....and the gas station. Less than a week ago, gas was 2.30something at that station.

Ya know, things are not as dreary as it seems on the surface. New Orleans just entered a "stay home mandate," but it's not like our every movement is restricted. You can go out and exercise and go to essential stores. You can be out in nature for mental health reasons. You just have to be smart - common sense stuff we all should be doing anyway.

I love B&W photography in general, and I was thinking that I'd do nothing but black & white until things are back to normal, but it's not needed for the duration of the lockdown. There's a lot of beauty to celebrate with the arrival of Spring. And I love that the streets are being reclaimed by cyclists over cars. I'd say it was about 50/50 in terms of motorists vs cyclists today and the cyclist % has crept up each day as this has gone on. The people who are out and about are even friendlier than normal, which in New Orleans is saying a lot.

Color is definitely returning to the world as everyone adjusts.
