Show/Tour/Venue Cancellations/Postponements/Status Updates

Post by Chez » Wed Aug 11, 2021 12:14 pm

Single place to consolidate everything. We don't need a separate discussion for every single show or tour or venue that decides to cancel, close the doors, make a vaccine requirement, etc. Put it all in here.

Do NOT use this thread is a place to debate vaccination or testing policies or to talk about COVID in general. Such comments will be removed.

JAZZ FEST 2021 WILL NOT OCCUR IN OCTOBER DUE TO COVID-19 CONDITIONS

2022 JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL SET FOR APRIL 29 – MAY 8

As a result of the current exponential growth of new COVID cases in New Orleans and the region and the ongoing public health emergency, we must sadly announce that the 2021 edition of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell, scheduled to take place October 8 –17, 2021, will not occur as planned. We now look forward to next spring, when we will present the Festival during its traditional timeframe. Next year’s dates are April 29 – May 8, 2022.

Ticketholders for both Festival weekends (including those that rolled over their tickets from 2020) will receive an email this week with details about the ticket refund and rollover process. All Wednesday, October 13 tickets will be automatically refunded.

In the meantime, we urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials, so that we can all soon experience together the joy that is Jazz Fest.

People who went to Widespread Panic recently after implementation of same policy said wait wasn't that bad - 15 minutes.

Best to go in early anyway to avoid the crowd waiting to get in closer to show time. Cuts into lot time, but better safe than sorry.

Have heard the same. Also, pat downs and searches are apparently non-existent

Getting into the Greek with vaccine proof was seamless. Just don't forget your ID to verify your vaccine or negative test

The technology exists to perform the clearance in advance. Many Caribbean island nations are using such systems to verify a negative test within a 72 hour window prior to arrival. No reason pre-clearance couldn't show up on your phone linked to your ticket.

saw Bobby at the Greek a few weeks ago
the Greek uses the "CLEAR" app
I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of a vaccine passport
but it does what it's supposed to do - verifies you have your vaccine card
it digitizes it and what pisses me off is that it takes a scan of your DL and
then you also provide a picture of your face from your phone
(facial recognition at it's finest)
at the venue you take another picture of your face and the app verifies it's you

as we walked in - it added 5 seconds to the process because it's clearly "green"
as you wave your phone at someone checking it - or shall I say glancing at it
I don't know if it does anything but put our names into a file someplace
that... yeah we were vaccinated at the time.... we went to such and such place/thing

AEG to require proof of vaccination for all attendees and staff beginning October 1:

CLEAR wasn't required. Using it was completely optional and you chose to use it. I simply showed them my vax card and ID and they let me in no problem

Announcement on show cancellations from Circles Around The Sun 😞
・・・
Hi All - We hate having to make this announcement, but we have to cancel our 8/10 show at Bowery Ballroom in NYC and our 8/12 appearance at the Catskill Jubilee Festival. It’s just an enormous bummer and it breaks our hearts to see the current resurgence of Covid.
Unfortunately, someone in the immediate family of a band member, who is vaccinated, has tested positive for Covid and we can no longer travel to NY. We want nothing more than to be playing shows right now. Having to cancel after all we have been through the last few years just feels awful. Nonetheless, we feel like we're making the right decision on behalf of both the band and our fans’ health and safety.
We are excited and looking forward to our September tour. Stay safe and healthy, and we hope to see you in person soon. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the continued love and support!

The following is a message from the presenter or promoter regarding the tickets you purchased for:

Stephen Marley
at Salvage Station Asheville, NC - Indoor Stage
on Fri Feb 25, 2022 at 8:00 PM

Dear Stephen Marley ticket holders:

It is with careful consideration that Stephen Marley, and Stephen Marley productions, has made the difficult decision to postpone the forthcoming Stephen Marley "Babylon By Bus" tour dates in August and September 2021. Given recent data regarding rising infection rates due to Covid-19, we are cautiously moving these dates in order to mitigate the risk of spread amongst our touring production crew, including the band and family, and most importantly our fans.

We hope that everyone will continue to be vigilant about safety at this time, and we hope to return to the stage in the near future.

The new date of the Stephen Marley show at Salvage Station is 2/25/21.

Tickets previously purchased will be honored for the rescheduled performances, or refunds will be available at point of purchase within 10 business days of the day this email was sent. No refunds will be issued after Wednesday, August 25th. For refund requests, please email info@ticketweb.com.

Thank you for choosing TicketWeb!
