Any beer drinkers here?

Post by Jack O. Hartz » Sat Nov 20, 2021 12:21 pm

NM IPA Challenge this afternoon. Taste (blind) 16 local IPAs then vote for your favorite. I've done it a few times in the past, but it has been on hold for a couple years due to Covid.
We will understand it better bye and bye.

Absolutely…..
IPAs are the only brew I drink
I’ve been a bit obsessed with Goose Island lately
They make a brew called Lost Palate
One of their brew masters is a cancer survivor and one of the side affects is he lost some of his sense of taste for cinnamon
The beer is a mix of mango and cinnamon with a 6.3 ABV for a nice kick in the pants
Dodging lions and a-wasting time

Not a big Goose Island fan. Last week I heard that that somebody bought out Bell's. Hope they don't fuck it up. It doesn't get any better than Bell's Two Hearted.
We will understand it better bye and bye.

Two-Hearted is my go to beer. So good. I was bummer when I heard about the sale to the international conglomerate. Hopefully they don't cut corners in the brewing process to save money that change the quality of their beers. IPAs are pretty much all I drink as well.

Well...it’s that time of year again! Anyone tried this year’s Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale? I’m getting my six pack this week.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Two-Hearted Ale are my go-to beers. Been getting back into stouts again. I used to drink a lot more than I do now. A six pack can sit in my fridge for a month nowadays.

O'Dell's makes a nice IPA. Their tasting room is large but sweet.

I have worked for American craft breweries for essentially a decade and now am the beer buyer for several establishments.

One of the breweries I worked for, Hill Farmstead, is unquestionably the best brewery in the world. Don’t take my word for it. In addition, Vermont brews the best in the country.

I’m lucky that I’m able to order Hill Farmstead for my shops (only a small handful of establishments can, mainly in Vermont) and still have that connection to the brewery. Working there opened my eyes and palette to what standards can be and beer can taste like.

There’s zero debate who brews the best beer on Earth. Hill Farmstead from Greensboro, Vermont.

For IPAs, Try:
Magnify Brewery, Fairfield NJ

Vine Shine is my fav from them. Best in the world!
Also, Citra Session from Common Roots Brewery in Glens Falls NY. Also best in the world!

Looking forward to trying a hill farmstead!

I think it’s important to add that Hill has won Best Brewer in the World from Ratebeer for many years now.

Not according to this list form the Ratebeer site https://www.ratebeer.com/beerstyles/ipa/17/

Don't know #1, #2 is Two Hearted, which has been #1 at some other site for like 4 years in a row.
Ballast Point Sculpin at #3 is a fine choice
Russian River at #6 and 14. They make Pliny the Elder, often #1 on some lists but only sold there
>>Drumroll<< #8 is Elevated from here. Best IPA in town
I have no problem with Stone at 15
We will understand it better bye and bye.
