Largest Venue you ever saw Bob

Post by pennsylvaniapete » Tue Jan 11, 2022 12:35 pm

For me the two shows at JFK in Philly: 1987 and 1989.
The Deadheads gather at the rim of the volcano to dance and sing joyful songs in honor of their fallen hero.

GD at LA Coliseum in 1991. Far from full, though.

Highgate VT ~ well over 100k both years. 94 was one of the coolest shows I saw. The traveling circus took over a corner of Vermont with much fun & hijinks ensuing. 95 was the worst fucking show I ever attended ~ by alot. Wannabe anarchists tore down the fences, overturned & burned portapotties, rampant od's & the ghost of Jerry up there on stage, warbling through trainwrecks of Peggy-O, Ramble On Rose, Rollin' & Tumblin' -->That Would Be Something, etc, etc. Having a shitty version of Liberty be my exit from the Dead still makes me sad. On the drive home, we bitched & moaned about what had become of the scene & vowed we'd seen our last Dead show ~ sadly we were all too correct.
