More than I need probably, but I do love the Live at the Fillmore East 1971 album.
We will understand it better bye and bye.

You open the window and stick your little pole out and actually catch a fish of some sort that you can pull up into your room and do anything you want to it

If you know what I mean

Believe it or not I don't think I've actually every listened to Zappa. If I have I was unawares.

Where would yall have me start if I wanted to check out his stuff, both live and studio?

put Uncle Meat in there and for something different if you want to check some of his orchestra stuff start with Orchestral Favorites... I like Lumpy Gravy and his earlier stuff to but that's a good list. Anything from him is unique enough you can't go wrong listening, unless you get offended easy or something like that.

I was lurking on the Zappa community board about this new release and I saw people saying it sold out but still available in the States. I jumped on it real quick, didn't think it would be limited edition and sell out. I was actually waiting to see if it went on Amazon like all the recent releases (ends up the cheapest with the pre order price guarantee).

The info for this release says the 4 shows closed the Fillmore East, but according to everything else I've read it was opened another few weeks and the Alllmans were part of the line up for the last show that closed it. This is just what we needed after the 6 disc 200 Motels is 8 discs of live shows from the era! ... I've heard the fire ending on bootlegs but apparently this release has that end along with the end of the show Zappa got thrown off stage and almost died.
