Re: RIP Marshall Tucker
Good band. Saw them once, with the Outlaws.
We will understand it better bye and bye.
Re: RIP Marshall Tucker
Me, too. Like in the late 70's. The opening band was Grinderswitch. Then the Outlaws.
Re: RIP Marshall Tucker
I saw them once also
It was an amazing show at JFK in Philly
38 Special, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, Allman Brothers then Marshall Tucker Band
It was a smoking hot show

Well, everyone's just dropping like flies lately.

Re: RIP Marshall Tucker
being from Charlotte, they were from down the road.
never saw them live, but had their cd's. my teen years they were
on everywhere.
I had forgotten the story of how they got their name.
must have been a good dude.
fyi I saw the Outlaws on the same bill as Pure Prairie League
at the fairgrounds in Charlotte. only time I saw either band.

I had heard early on that when they rented an empty warehouse to rehearse in, Marhsall Tucker was the name on a tag for the front door key. Didn't know the blind piano tuner part.caseyjonesed wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 2:37 pm

Went to the Roundup too — the weather was hot as hell. Think I drank a 12 pack and sweated it all out!

It was very hot
The good thing is the skies opened up with some very welcoming rain
I remember some folks were enjoying a friendly mud slide on the field
