Dweezil Zappa
I went looking for a previous show announcement thread to reply to but threads disappear so quick around here...
Just got back from the Oakdale and wow, what an incredible show and band!
Obviously I didn't look at anything setlist wise but I also never saw any live Zappa music and really had no expectations. It was so good and such justice to the music, the band was so fucking tight. He's helping carry the torch with Zappa's music just like Bob and everyone else with GD music. I'm a pretty big Zappa fan for a while now but it takes seeing this music played live, and so well, to really appreciate how unbelievable and special it was.
I am so kicking myself for not going to see The Band From Utopia this year with Robert Martin, Ray White and Scott Thunes... I wont miss that or Dweezil again in the future. Even if your not familiar with the music, most people would go and be totally blown away.
He played 2 hours and 50 minutes straight tonight and the band absolutely killed it 110% all night. It was so good I didn't even take a hit off my vape pen till the encore break cause I didn't want to miss anything.
edit - there was the encore break so like 2 hours 30 minutes straight then encore

I just caught Dweezil last Sunday at the Chevalier Theater in Medford.

I think I go on 9-11. DZ has already toured with Apostrophe and Roxy, and I went to both. Don't mind going again.
We will understand it better bye and bye.

Re: Dweezil Zappa
It was so much more then Roxy and Apostrophe to, was thinking might be mostly those 2 so I didn't look and tried not to think of what's on those albums for months... What's really cool to is his not trying to be like his father, stage presence and all, which was the best but you can't recreate some things.

Re: Dweezil Zappa
I went with my son to the Roxy show. If you recollect, Frank ended the show by inviting the audience onstage to dance. DZ did the same and my son totally raced up there. Some MILF twice his age was totally macking on him LOL.
We will understand it better bye and bye.

Echidna's Arf>Don't You Ever Wash That Thing?
While videos don't do it justice they are still sweet, thanks.
The whole band was solid but this guy Zack was crazy bouncing from guitar-percussion and a lot of lead vocals all night. At one point he's going back and forth guitar-percussion and he's playing drums with one hand and the neck of his guitar with the other, then he starts using the drum stick on his guitar... and you could hear everything he's doing and it all sounds good and makes musical sense, not just for show.
