Garcia Band starts East Coast Fall Tour with Bob & Rob opening up. Today was 35 years ago for MPP. Man that was such a fun summer. While it would have been nice to go back to sheds for summer, the Dead were firing on all cylinders that summer. Followed up by this tour, which was a whole lot of fun and far more relaxed then the circus dead summer tour had become. Bob & Rob were the perfect opener for JGB, just an absolute blast. Right around the time of Garcia's tour, the Stones went back on the road for the first time in 7/8 years. We went right from Garcia tour to a bunch of stones show and then right back to GD on their historic 89 fall run. Life was good and time was plenty. Crazy how fast it all goes. It seemed those days would go on forever, but fate was waiting right around the corner with a hammer to the head. It sure was fun while it lasted.

It was a great summer.
Don't forget the Who and Allman Brothers
came out that summer too after a long time off the road.

Re: 35 Years Ago OTD
Forgot about the Who. Was at Buffalo show and they just opened the gates and let everyone in, which was nice since we didn't have tickets yet. Did not catch the ABB that tour, I wouldn't have had the $ anyway with all that was going on
