CFTV’s house flooded to at least shin-deep.

The remnants of Hurricane Helene have made its way to St. Louis. They just moved tonight's Billy Joel and Sting concert to Sunday, Sep 29 at Busch Stadium. There is also the Evolution Festival scheduled this Sat & Sun in Forest Park. As of this afternoon the festival was still scheduled to happen rain or shine.

We live near Brevard, and it has been an absolute mess of a week.

We are very fortunate because as rough as its been for us, it's been so much worse (sadly in many cases, deadly) for others.

We today fled to a family members' house in Travelers Rest, SC where we can enjoy the luxuries of cell service and running water. Also, we are pretty confident we can get gas in the morning here.

We are headed back to the Brevard area with supplies tomorrow.

Denaz told me the main thing he checked, and what he is truly grateful for, is that his spring 1990 box set is safe, dry, and on the top shelf.

Truly a close call.....

We have received a dispatch from Special Agent Denaz from Asheville ground zero:

1) Asheville is fucked. People are hurting and it's going to take awhile to heal.
2) Given that, people are pitching in and making it work.
3) Hot showers fucking rock.
4) It's Halloween for the homeless crowd. Restaurants, food stores and all the usual suspects are being generous with food handouts due to the overall fucked-ness of the situation.Being a resourceful lot, Asheville's homeless are living it up and walking around with bags, bikes and carts packed with food. Our agent said it has a trick or treat feel to it.
5) The Spring 1990 box set remains safe.

Woke up sweat'y again. May actually suck it up to take a cold shower cuz i gotta go to the vet today and don't wanna stink the place out.

To be clear, i am NOT complaining. Many had it worse and some still do. Some of the stories are beyond heartbreaking. This was one awful, nasty and deadly storm.

Was in East Tennessee Monday and Tuesday for work. Bad situation across the state line as well

A customer in Erwin had their people working on Friday. The Nolichucky River rose so fast they weren’t ready for it. As the water rose to a foot deep in the parking lot - they told everyone to get out.

Six employees panicked in the raging water and were seen climbing into a tractor trailer for safety

The tractor trailer was swept away and the six bodies have not been found.

We are going to Firestorm Books in West Asheville at 2pm tomorrow for a "community meet up" to find people for whom we can volunteer.

The Kingsport Tennessee fire department rescued a dog this morning - six days after the storm.

The dog was stuck 20 feet up in a tree from the flash flooding

Yooo just came off the mountain for service.

First time I’ve been on the internet since last Friday. Babaric.

Our valley was hit really hard. Road destroyed. DOT has made a ton of progress.

No power, Internet or cell service. They’re saying probably a month till we have power.

We are safe though and our home is safe. Major landslides off our driveway though. It compromise our driveway eventually,

Wife and kids went to Charlotte to stay with family while we keep working on the road here.

The community response has been humbling, before DOT was able to get to us people were rebuilding the road themselves.

Strangers stopping strangers.

Be safe out there.
