I've felt like that with friends who've died. Like we're gonna talk again. It's denial I guess.

I really enjoyed talking to Tom about atheism. I know he had a hard on for believers, in general (the smartass), but no matter what - I'm really feeling his energy today. He was a passionate kid. I had no idea about his demons and I was so looking forward to playing guitar with him someday. Fuck....never met him in person and I cried like a baby this morning. I'm going to miss that kid.

That's shock.Above-The-Trees wrote:does anyone else feel like, like.. Like it doesnt feel real or something?
When I was younger I spent years in the scouts they would teach us how to treat people for shock in an emergency type situation.
I NEVER understood that, ever. Until I held my dad's hand while he passed lying in his hospital bed in 09/2011.
I realized then and the immediately following days that indeed shock is a very real thing. There are many different levels of it but when you can recognize and understand that indeed that is what's happening it helps to ease it.

I'm sorry to hear that another member of community is now gone.
I never met Tom, but my condolences to all who knew him outside of this community and loved him.
And to anyone who blames himself, you have to stop. I was in a similar situation 5 years ago with my good friend Mud(Dylan). I missed his call one day and the next day he was gone. "If only I had answered the phone!", I often berated myself for.
Don't blame yourself, remember him for all the good he had done in life.
And no doubt Weirswoman is looking after him, like the good Mom she was.

Tom was one of the first .orgers I met. I enjoyed hanging with him at Sunshine Daydream, Rams Head Ratdog shows, and Delfest. He served me and my wife on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland when he was working there. This years Delfest will be dedicated to him with many toasts. I know he was looking forward to it! RIP Tom, Brad

Unbelievable ....
I enjoyed his presence here a lot
I rooted for the Ravens since they were his team
He loved guitars and I hoped to someday hook up with him and play

OMG I am just speechless. We really need to look out for one another. This shit is such an epidemic at this point.
People please listen to me...GET OFF THE FUCKING PILLS. STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE PAIN MEDS AND THE OTHER SHIT YOUR DOCTORS ARE SO WILLING TO SHOVE DOWN YOUR THROATS. So many cases of Heroin OD we are seeing starts in your own medicine cabinets. Pharmies are the devils candy.
This is just enraging to read this.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom's family and phamily
As a fellow Marylander I did hang with Tom at shows in Baltimore
esp fun at Rams Head.
He def loved music and friends-and a wry(good) sense of humor too
Godly shame we lose 2 Marylanders so soon and way too young...
weird thing about age 27 deaths and musicians too-google 27 club
Jimi Hendrix
Ron "Pigpen" McKernan
Amy Winehouse
Brian Jones
Janis Joplin
Jim Morrison
Kurt Cobain

And always remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.
Better off with 1f than none!
