there you go....
Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away
How very tragic and I'm terribly saddened by the news even if I never met Tom in person. His name and face are one I will forever associate with Ratdog and this board.
Peace, Love & Light to all his friends, family & .orgers
pstoltz wrote:I wrote this song a couple months ago. Its title, "Transition Song" has to do with the transitional period everything is in since the end of Summer. There's just been so much going on in my own life, as well as all around and in every community. Transition isn't always bad though.
I just recorded this for Tom/WeirEverywhere - a guy I, like many here, did not get a chance to meet/kick it on the lot, but interacted with him here.
This is not in any way to promote myself as I don't claim to be anything. I don't generally record myself at all. This video/post is for Tom and please free to share it if you think it will help some.
Reading this thread teared/tears me up and I just want to send out as much positive energy as I can to those affected.
Lyrics:
Rising with the Sun too bright to even see,
all the light and love ever surrounding me.
When will my eyes open wide?
When will I face the feelings I've buried deep down inside?
Sailing by the moon across the waters deep,
direction lost, the captain bailed, but still we're out at sea.
Wind howls all through the night.
Rain starts pouring, the lightening strikes,
the sailor's filled with fright.
Standing still, nowhere to turn.
Out on an island, all bridges burned.
What'll you do when you find yourself here?
Let me tell you friend the answer's quite clear:
Open your heart and let love pour in.
Open your mind and search within.
The answer you seek lies in front of you.
Love one another and we can all get through.
So rise up with the Sun for all the world to see,
your lovelight shining through the dark so naturally.
Keep your heart open wide.
Love for all is the only way this world will survive.
Rest in peace and safe travels on your next journey brother
pstoltz, it says the video is private. I can't view it. I would hope no one would think you would be "self-promoting" by posting something for Tom. Lemme know when I can check it out. Lyrics are really nice, man.
Been really sad about this, he was a really nice kid...damn man... Hope everyone is well on here, and life is too short to be mean to people just because they have different opinions about a band that we all love , its stupid and if I ever came across as a moron, I probably was sounding like one. May the four winds blow you home again.
I just arrived at my destination for a business trip and saw this on Facebook and here. Such a sad thing to see and hear. I was lucky to have met Tom at a few shows. Great person and a great part of our special community.
I hope we all take this as a lesson that we have an important responsibility to look out for each other. The beauty of our music and community is it lives on the edge. The edge is where new ideas and amazing things happen. But edges have sharpness too. Let's enjoy the edge and help each other.
Future belongs to a very different kind of person with a very different kind of mind

Just happy memories of seeing him horsing around with his particular show buddies...and goofing on the web.
He was so young...too young

vibes of strength and healing to those who loved him.
and ((((hugs))) to my fellow dot orgers.
Very sad to hear this news. He was way too young to check out. I never met Tom but I definitely enjoyed some of his musings here. What a terrible thing.
Fare thee well Tom...

Although I never met Tom personally we had traded some music, a few PMs about said music trades, etc...
I really enjoyed his quick wit on the interwebz here...
