RIP Chester.
Just like a deaf man dancin', Like a blind man shooting pool...
Then he went off sniffing drainpipes
And reciting the alphabet

Man, had some really great times with The Cheeseman (his old nickname) back in the 80's in Rochester. He used to come over to my place alot and we'd get busy (after some 4:20!) with a couple of Buckets of Rochester's finest Wings. We'd throw towels over our shoulders because of all the heat and mess. And of course, lots of cold beer. He started to get into the GD scene in the late 80s when all of the Rochester shows were happening.
Super guy. Really sad about his early passing.

Did you grown up in Roch, or just go to school there?

I don't post much on this board. Chester was a big part of my life from the Furthur Board and the Terrapin Nation board which he founded. I'm devastated by his passing. He was one person who was always there for me when I needed it. There are so many things I wish I could say to him. You will be missed Bruce and forever in my heart!
We are going to continue to keep Chester's spirit alive at Terrapin Nation. Won't you join us?!

May the four winds blow you safely home

I went to RIT like Bruce. He was about 4 years ahead of me but he spent alot of time on campus after he finished/parties etc... I lived in Rochy from 82-89. I had an apartment that was only half a mile from his house back then.

that is great trannyman, how cool. I only had the pleasure of meeting Chester a couple times, oddly enough never in Roch, where we both lived.

Yeah. He was a constant presence at just about every party going on around campus for all the time I lived there. He wasn't a crazy, out of control type though. Earlier on, he was your classic rock kinda guy but then started to get into the GD scene. What people say about him is right...not a negative bone in his body..always a friend you could trust and the first one to help somebody out if they needed it. Really sucks he passed so young. I wonder what happened? Maybe his heart possibly. There's a big group of my college friends who are really shocked to hear this too.

Omg I'm so so sorry to hear this, may God shine
His ever loving light upon Chester and his family.
The gods who have been appointed to be our companions in the dance,
have given us the pleasurable sense of harmony and rhythm;
and so they stir us to life, and we follow them,
joining together in dances and songs.
