Sad news to wake to.
I had a dream last night. In my cigar box of ticket stubs, I was looking for a message that Hippie Bill wrote for me. I've kept it for all these years.

RIP, brother. I'll miss seeing you around. Maybe in another time and space.

Re: Hippie Bill...He's gone...
For some of us, traveling to ratdog shows was quite a bit more challenging than travelling to the dead as there wasn't as much to blend into. I remember one show after driving through some bad snow near syracuse without a ticket and him escorting me down to a prime seat. Ended up next to a guy who had been working on finishing up refurbishing the theater. This was just one small example of the awesomeness of having 'Hippie Bill' being there. He made the 'road' a bit less harsh for this doggee. When arriving at the show's locations, just seeing HB, I could finally take a deep breath and get rid of the taint of the road and begin the 'calisthenics' for the show.
Hope that you are being made to feel as comfortable and welcoming as you made some of us - at your next stop on the universal tour.

Met him many times. One in particular: I was with my wife and daughter, 7 at the time, at the Orphium in Boston...said hi to Bill and he went out of his way to have a nice little conversation with my daughter A kind soul indeed. Sleep in the stars Bill.
Just like a deaf man dancin', Like a blind man shooting pool...
Then he went off sniffing drainpipes
And reciting the alphabet

Damn, I’ve been away from this board for a while and didn’t know he passed. So many good memories from the taper section with him. He got our gear into Greensburg 2007 Ratdog show when they were being jerks about tapers. I used to give him jolly ranchers every time I saw him.
