After bad losses in game 4 and 5 of the first round playoffs
The 76ers win decisively 132-97 over the Raptors on their court
Next up, The Miami Heat
This series is gonna be tough
Go Sixers!!

Not good news for the 76ers
The big man Joel Embid has an orbital fracture and is under concussion protocol
He will miss at least two games
If they can sneak out one win in Miami without him I think we’ll be alright
Go 76er’s!!!

So last eight are set.

PHX vs DAL
GSW vs MEM

PHI vs MIA
BOS vs MIL

Injuries suck!! And this season all teams have had to deal with not just that, but add in the covid crap and as a result you have teams having a hard time coming together, that is, chemistry, and having the same core group of players consistently together. Very evident with the Celtics. Once they had everyone healthy for a decent period of time they found that chemistry and were able to develop a core starting five and decent bench play and finally became a TEAM! And they have really taken to the defensive game and looks like the two young stars finally have "got it". If I was a gambler I'd go all in with the Celtics, I think another Celtics banner is going up.

And some history....Often overlooked, the Russell era was unlike any other in NBA history. One of the few true "dynasties" in pro sports, and easily the greatest dynasty.

1968-69 NBA Won Finals B. Russell (48-34) B. Howell (11.3)
1967-68 NBA Won Finals B. Russell (54-28) B. Howell (10.1)

1961-62 NBA Won Finals R. Auerbach (60-20) B. Russell (15.5)
1960-61 NBA Won Finals R. Auerbach (57-22) B. Russell (13.0)
1959-60 NBA Won Finals R. Auerbach (59-16) B. Russell (13.8)
1958-59 NBA Won Finals R. Auerbach (52-20) B. Russell (12.9)

1956-57 NBA Won Finals R. Auerbach (44-28) B. Sharman (10.4)

Excellent to see the Mavericks totally humiliate The Suns on their court
Now we have two different teams that will enter the championship game

Let's go Celtics! New Celts coach Ime Udoka for coach of the year. 4-5 months ago they seemed to be barely treading water at .500. Also hope that not-so-average Al Horford wins the first ECF MVP Larry Bird award. Two awesome 24 year-olds, gritty D, and Timelord - and most importantly - great chemistry. \:D/

ETA:
After Friday - Game 6 - frustrating loss. doesn't seem like the J's are ready - at times - for the finals yet. average al showed up - zero offensive impact by smart and Grant is so hard to root for. Hopeful for the future but the past couple of games there were way too many chunks of time with more than a hint of mediocrity against a banged up team.
