9/6/2003 Setlist, Photos, and Reviews

Such a fun day down in Marin! Just like a long time ago; homemade stage set up, very low key. Don't Push The Clown was excellent. Terry Haggarty is just lightnin' on that guitar of his! Good to see Country Joe too. Ratdog was very entertaining and played a good long set. Interesting Reggae moment during Ratdog with a Rasta who rapped and sang one number with Bobby and crew. Who would have guessed? By the way what happened to Father Guido Sarduchi? He was listed on the bill but never showed? What's up with that? Great day!

I really enjoyed the festival this year, a lot better than a couple years ago when the temperature was up in the 100s. First I have to mention the great set from Don't Push The Clown; Terry Haggerty and Bobby Vega threw it down. Ratdog's set was good; it had some great spots and couple less than stellar spots but I dug it on the whole. Dark Star was actually my least favorite song of the set, a whole lot of nothin went on during it. Things really picked up with Bury Me Standing. On top of a very nice version, Ratdog grooved on a little reggae during this tune--unexpected and a nice treat. Lady With A Fan>Terrapin>Dear Prudence was great and would have been the highlight of their performance for me, but their encore took that title. After a solid Saturday Night, the boys come back out and settle into At A Siding. Jay Lane made this song his. He seemed like he had been holding back a little during the set without really any space to shine, but the encore served it up for him and he delivered. Cassidy was good, and Brokedown Palace was a fine touch to cap off a very enjoyable set.
