I didn't want to talk after the show because I was speechless. I really was depressed that I had to turn to the people I was with and TALK about the show, or anything else for that matter. Why do we need to talk about, break it down into mini-explanations, turn one thing into another, compare guitarists, wonder what came after Masterpiece? I don't know. I'm just bitter that I had to come down and I couldn't keep floating there in that brilliant abyss that was opened up last night. That eventual omnipresence of our collective mind and heart that seeped across the swell of heads and died such a dripping death as we 'danced on our own graves'! What an unbelievably stellar show!

The Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. What a place to see a show, up close and personal. Bobby was on fire the band was so tight, let's do it again tonight.

Highlights for me: The opening Help was a great way to move the crowd into the experience. Dire Wolf was good, especially the break before the last verse. Scarlet Begonias was a treat, moving in directions I couldn't anticipate. Althea was gorgeous - very open and engaging. From there, I can't say it was anything that interested me. It was just too slow. If you're going to play Masterpiece (which was nice), you can't play two other songs that sound just like it. Hope tonight rocks a bit more intensely.

What a great show! Kimock was off a little with the rest of the band but, nonetheless, ripped it up! I'm noticing the quality of Ratdog fans is declining because I happened to notice more aggressive people, both getting into the show and during the show. It reminds me of when the Dead threatened to stop touring because of these types of people that started appearing at their shows and crashing gates etc. . . .
Get well Mark :)
Peace

Josh,

I agree with you on some of the aggressive people. I bought the tour shirt and took off the flannel I was wearing. while I was in the bathroom some kid who I am guessing he was maybe 21 said under his breathe but so I could still here him said"that shirt is getting real old" . He was obviously "A REAL FAN" and I'm not because I bought a t-shirt to support the band. If you are reading this kid know this that when this hippie fad fades with you my love will never go away. The rest of the crowd was very nice a little messy in the parking lot though. Please to those people that were doing nitrous in the parking lot. When the bands tour manager ask you to walk away from the venue please do so as this just causes bad rep. and could prevent the band from playing in a great venue like the ballroom. This may not reach those fans that I was talking about but if anyone form this community sees this kind of stuff going down don't be afraid to voice your opinion.

Phenomenal. Absoultely ineffable.

I agree with the comments about aggressive people. Nitrous makes people aggressive and it does give us a bad rep. I had to ask the nitrous folks to move on as well. I came out of the show, Friday night, glowing from head to toe, only to find the whole nitrous scene happening right next to my car. I asked them to PLEASE move two or three times. All they did was give me the finger. The last thing I wanted was a fight with the nitrous crowd but I also did not want those folks setting up camp right on my tail bumper, which was park down next to the bands bus. Oh well, I made my point and caused a rucous. That nitrous is nasty stuff and if anything can ruin a good time that's the stuff. I think the drug scene is getting a little carried away and I'm worried about it. I have been a DEAD HEAD since 1972 so I'm no Pollyanna. Be careful DOGGIES, especialyy with the "Big H". It's strong, it's cheap, very available and here's the killer, It's Incredibly addictive!!!!
