Reviews
First, one must mention the gorgeous night at the beach with storm clouds, downpours, an apocalyptic sunset over the Seabrook nuke plant, all bathed in summer-like warm winds. Then, a very hot show. Long first set with lots to love, especially the set closing King Bee, Ramble on Rose, Dark Star. A young woman with silky blond hair and a black dress expressed the music in sultry extravagance. The rest of us boogied on. Then, a second set with a show-stealing Dark Hollow of all things. Schoolgirl is twisted around but still fun, interrupted only by a blowhard defending his claim to a piece of turf and threatening to "Fuck you up" (note to female companion: run, don't walk away - you're surely next in line) Nice jam and Sugaree. Stephanie from Sudbury discovered the magic combination of drugs, music and glow stick balls during this one.Who would have guessed? Then a beautiful return to Dark Star, an appropriately silly Saturday Night (alright, I did actually wind up singing along once or twice) and a magnificent Franklin's Tower encore. Once more back to setting: Outside the clouds had blown away leaving a bright moon that lit up the beach and the breaking waves. Met one guy out fishing at 12:30 - had the whole beach to himself and no real hope of catching anything - what could be better? And then a group of really nice kids who'd gotten a couple days off from the restaurant business in Laconia to play. All in all, a most memorable night.

Dark Hollow was a FREAKIN' GAS!!! One of many highlights. It was all great. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that when Bobby opens with Stranger the show ends up being a smoker? I danced like a fool this whole show (as usual). I gotta be honest with you, I was f***in' stoked for this show. And I had a wonderful sober time. Dancing to GD music gets me sooo high, and its the one "drug" I will never give up. See y'all down the road somewhere.

The weekend was one big, great concert, from the opener Help on the Way on Friday night to the closer Franklin's Tower on Saturday night, with too many highlights in between to mention. Steve Kimock was brilliant. Jeff Chimenti absolutely sparkled. With a full moon rising over the Atlantic Ocean ("Standing on the Moon!") just outside and the Red Sox winning in Colorado, it was a most magical weekend, in my most favorite of all RatDog venues, the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. Can't wait for Burlington!

it all started 1976 i heard my first dead song and i have not looked back since.got to the show 7pm with two of my long time boneheads.got inside, mingled for a bit,the brain asked me to go outside for a quick smoke and maybe see the band.we were right next to the bus,no one was around( which was strange).the bus door opens and there's MR WEIR, WHO GREETS US AND SHAKES OUR HANDS,WHAT A HUMBLE MAN. 4 decades, shows upon shows, thousands of dollars, for a handshake that was well worth it!

What a venue. Since Jerry passed I had always wanted to see Bobby at this venue. I was not disappointed. WOW ! The Ramble on Rose and Sugaree blew the roof off this place. Kimock is the man ! Just his tone and phrasing remind me so much of ol Jerry, but at the same time are his own, and not some cheesy rip off. I had not been at this venue since a Marshall Tucker and Donovan concert back in 1986. This place is the best . I will be sure to make this a stop every here every time Bob & Friends play. No Hassle venue, Nice people, cold beer, no long lines, ocean breeze, Kimock Riffs bouncing off the ceiling........ great time !

As someone mentioned earlier it was one big concert with Help on the way opener Friday night to the Franklin's Tower enchore Saturday night, and all the songs in between melt into a dream, a beautiful Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom Dream. I met up with some fellow boneheads that I met at the Rat Dog Show in Concord NH 3-12-07 and had the pleasure to hang out with them for both of these shows.Thank you so much Alphonse,Dave,Louie and Mark.
