Not that I was there, but they're streaming it on GDRADIO tonight.
I didn't tune in until GSET, but it was the most mellow version I think I've ever heard. Very nice. Made me wonder who slipped what to Bobby...
The cool vibe continues as the show moves on.
There was a LOL moment in Deal where you can hear him ask the band on the monitor how the next verse starts (they hilariously respond that they have no idea) and so what does Bobby do but ASK THE CROWD. I guess they gave him something to go on because he gets back to singing. But I've listened to too many live versions to know what's exactly correct there. Haha at least the band kept playing on!
The thing that kept me tuned in was waiting for "When I Paint My Masterpiece". I love that song, though the funny thing is I have never gone and listened to the Dylan version.
So then they meander onto Cryptical or whatever, and then the "drums/jam" bit suddenly sounds like I'm listening to Orb Live 93. Dafuq? But in a good way.
I haven't seen a recent version of the band play since 2010, when they came to Mohegan Sun, and I was in the front row and it kicked total ass. Maybe it's time to head out again soon, if this is how they're doing it now. It's one thing for a show to be great when you're there, but for it to sound this good in my ear sitting at my dining room table is persuasive.
Well I was there and when I went to get my coat for set break a guy says"I saw you upfront Dancing you looked lost". I was lost from the first note of Shakedown GAME ON @ THE TOWER SEE YA BYE. In a word SMOKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
